WE'RE BAAACKKKK!!
After too long of a delay in publishing SmartSass is here to tell you 2016 is going be amazeballs. Seriously.
Okay, so not only did our site host Weebly totally release a fantastic mobile blogging option so we don't have to feel trapped to the computer anymore, 2016 is also the year of home reno in the SassyPants house! I cannot wait to show you as it all (hopefully) comes together! 🙌🏼
First things first: where we are now (*gulp*).
Backstory: we moved into our home in April of 2014. It was previously owned by an older lady who at some point had a lust for wallpaper. After taking down what I can only assume added up to at least a mile of wallpaper in the first 6 months we were in the home we burnt out. (I'll post some fun current before and afters below for those curious).
Fast forward...
Today we are sitting pretty at only three currently wallpapered rooms (that are painted nicely so you'd actually never know). We've updated appliances, temp fixed two bathrooms, and got the walls in the fireplace room the way we want them -- which is where our story REALLY begins.
The basement fireplace room and bar room:
The word I would use to describe these spaces when we moved in would have safely been DINGEY. The words I want to be able to use include: cozy, rusticly modern, and charming. Pulling inspiration both from the mammoth brick fireplace and a little steak bar and brewery we went to in Chicago here's a little inspiration for you to see the direction we're headed....

Industrial, cozy, airy, and unique. Hopefully.
So, who wants to see what it looked like when we signed the loan and now? ✋🏼

When we purchased:
Currently: (and yes, right now we have papasan chairs -- for 8 more weeks only though!)
All three wallpaper patterns are down in the fireplace room, we've painted the fire vents black, removed the bar and the 1980's fridge, and that's about where we are at. I PROMISE when I update in 4 weeks it'll look way different AND in 8 weeks you won't recognize it (again, hopefully)

So, whatcha think so far of our direction? Think it's do-able? Let us know in the comments and keep an eye out for more before and current photos of the upstairs later this week!
